Gentleman,,, I ordered the Slot Car Corner braid, double sided tape and the router bit to get rid of the copper tape on my track. Haven't had any problems with the tape really but just wanted to make some improvements. We'll be running at 8 volts on this puppy,,,,just kidding Jimbo So I ordered late last evening and already got an email saying it has been shipped. Should be able to show you guys the stuff this weekend. If I get my act together maybe the next race this spring at my place will be with the new braid..... PS I did get enough for my "extension" whenever that happens...

Well the tape is gone..... I routed right thru it and it took about 2 hrs maybe to route all the lanes for the braid recesses. Laying the double side tape is the worst part of the job. Just need to go slow and there are no problems. Putting the braid down is pretty simple and goes a little quicker. I have the outside lane done (blue) but need to make the permanent connections to it.
So a few more nights or one good Saturday should have everything up and running again.

Here's a pic of 2 lanes ready to be taped and braided and one braided lane. The braid ends up being just about flush with the track surface. I could have gone just a tad deeper with the route but it seems to work just fine. No worse than any plastic track and it's rails. The braid is tined cooper so not magnetic. It is silver, the lighting in the second picture actually makes it look like copper I am ready to do some RC trail running that's for sure buddy...

The role of braid is 500' long and 1/4" wide. 109 bucks The tape comes in roles of 180' by 1/4 inch. I got 3 for 48 bucks. The router bit was 35 bucks, so everything plus shipping was a little under 200 and it was here in like 3 days from Steve.
So it's still snowing and we have at least 2 feet. Gonna be plowing that's for sure.

Well all lanes are up and running. Nice and smooth now and good power all around. Now to just clean up the basement so it's presentable.
