Hope you are not disappointed, it's neither the two you mentioned. This set doesn't seem to appear on Pendles site. You can choose one or the other. I like both equal and am just happy to see one go to another Grp B rally fan. I love this era of rally car and hope to get to run some on that sweet track your building! First up......... Peugeot205 T16 Costa Brava 86 A. Zanini / R. Autet OR Peugeot205 T16 Belga 24hr Ypres 1985 Darniche / Mahe ;D The choice is yours my friend

Also, it looks the Spirit Renault 5 chassis will fit with little modification.

Disappointed? NO WAY! ;D ;D ;D
Either would be great. If you want me to choose, I'll pick the red/white Belga.
The Pendle's site lists the Renault 5 chassis (while supplies last) - so I ordered one. I hadn't thought of that. I'm going to try to locate my Spirit parts box to see if I have a motor pod - if not FW has them.
Group B Rally is really fascinating. It only lasted a few years - FIA canceled Group B while the race where Toivenen and Cresta were killed in their Lancia S4 was still in progress. Audi had started on a 1000hp car for the next year. Ferrari (308) and Ford (RS200) were gearing up also. I ordered a video about the cars called "Too Fast to Race" which I should be receiving soon. Group B was crazy. Running cars capable of 200mph on narrow spectator-lined backroads with the spectators often reaching out and touching the cars when they went by. The other main dagger in Group B had happened earlier in 1986 in Portugal where a Spanish driver in a Ford RS200 crested a hill at speed and found spectators in the middle of the road - 30+ killed or injured. No way to control the huge crowds.
There were literally only a handful of top Group B drivers - some, like Ari Vatanen - admitting that they just threw caution to the wind and claiming that the more aggressively you drove, the better the car handled. I have a video of Ari driving his Peugeot up Pikes Peak during the Pikes Peak Hill Climb (that's the Spirit car I have). The Group B cars weren't designed to go slow. It's interesting that one of the top drivers was a woman (Michele Mouton). She came in a narrow 2nd in the driver's championship one year (and also raced her Audi in the Pikes Peak Hill Climb).
Great cars. I don't remember who now (Vatanen maybe), but one of the drivers in describing the Peugeot T16 said he could smoke all four tires when shifting into top gear.
Well, I can't thank you enough Jim. This is really nice of you.
