I've seen posted on other forums the notion of the "24 minutes of LeMans."
At our next race, how about including a "faux" endurance race. We would start by everyone doing a 1-minute qualification run on the same lane. Then we would divide up into teams of two - first qualifier with last qualifier, second qualifier with second-to-last qualifier etc.
Say we were using a two lane track. We would then rotate the teams through the lanes racing 12 minutes/lane. At set intervals (say at 3, 6, and 9 minutes) teams would have to switch drivers (either on the go, or pause the timing program). I think running the cars IROC-style might make the competition closer. Any maintenance such as tire cleaning could be done under green or not as we decide.
I think the whole thing could be completed in an hour as part of our other 1/24 races.
We'd have to figure out what to do with an odd number of drivers - sure we could figure out something.

Since we all like the ideal for the next race, when do we want to have it, and how wants to host?

Two of them are in the process of getting a track together.
